A New Park

I don't really want to write about all of the parks that we visit. Just because they are new to us, doesn't mean anyone else cares. I am mostly writing for my own memories and because I was able to get some really nice pictures with our camera. I love our camera and am so glad we got it for ourselves for Christmas!

If anything, I know our family will enjoy looking at the pictures of the kids! I tried to get a picture of Gordon looking at the camera, but he's goin through a phase that if I say smile, he says no and turns his head. I'm sorry for that, but I didn't feel like fighting with him about smiling at the park! I should have kept the camera going constantly because he really did have a great time!

This summer is getting warm and we are enjoying trying new things and having great weather to play in while we are trying them!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

One more post for today, just so you know our lives aren't all accidents lately! I won't do anymore after this either because I think you can only handle so much of the Hunter's in one day!

A few months ago, they announced in Church that there would be a baseball night at the Louisville Bats game. Tickets were $6 each and hot dogs and sodas were $1. Bargain for us! So, last night we got to experience our first baseball game in Louisville. For our kids, it was the first baseball game ever. I think I've only ever experienced my brothers' baseball games in the past, so for me, it was a new experience as well. The whole experience was definitely more fun with a whole bunch of people from church to talk to and hang out with as well, so it was definitely a night to remember!

I don't know if you can read it, but they have our group on the welcome board!
One of the stake presidents got to give an honorary first pitch.
We did have one incident that could have had a bad outcome, but we lucked out, sort of! Kyle brought his mitt with him in hopes of catching a foul ball if possible. He said that he needed to bring it to protect us. Well, just as I was telling him how many hot dogs and sodas we needed, Kyle yells, "Michelle, ball!" I turn just as a ball comes flying at me. Can you believe my luck? Well, yes, most people can at this point after two other horrible incidents in the last two weeks. Fortunately, there was a doctor sitting in front of me and a doctor sitting behind me if anything were to happen, but fortunately, the very fast flying ball hit the arm of my chair and bounced off and somewhere else into the audience. Kyle was baffled that he got distracted and had considered leaving the seats with our kids and me sitting there. After that, I was the one to get the hot dogs and soda and he protected everyone sitting around us! We didn't have any more incidents, but they did give us a practice ball as a souvenir, so that was fun!

They had picture boards and of course, the kids HAD to get pictures!

We had a great night over all and enjoyed being with all of our friends. We even got to see one of the Bats hit a home run while there was another batter on base, so they scored two points in that inning! Baseball is in no way our favorite sport to watch. The total score was 4-2 with the Bats winning, but we were there for hours just to see those runs. We'll definitely do it again next year because they offer it every year, but I'm not sure we'll visit frequently because none of us can sit still that long for a few hits!

Fireflies

For those who live in the Pacific Northwest and haven't traveled far, you may have always seen fireflies in cartoons or in movies but never thought more about them. We have discovered that fireflies are infact real and can be caught. We've also learned a some about how they work. They light up when they are flying up, away from the ground and they seem to lose their light after a few hours, or at least, the later at night, the less we see them. We've tried taking pictures of them, but we haven't been able to get any amazing pictures of them. For those who would love to see them, you'll just have to come visit us to get a good look at fireflies during the summer! We have tried to take a picture of them though. The little light in the pictures is actually the fireflies. Normally we see tons at once, but for some reason we couldn't get pictures of tons all at once, weird, huh?

Yet Another Mishap!

I have come to the conclusion that my body isn't happy with me being pregnant, or maybe it is my mind that isn't happy with it, I'm not sure! My stitches are still intact and my hand is healing quite nicely. In fact, I think that may be why it was time for something new to happen! Yesterday it was only fitting that it rained on Father's Day since it rained on Mother's Day here. Of course, there haven't been too many rainy days in between, but it seemed only appropriate that we both got the unfairness of rain on our days!

We had a wonderful, if not quick morning of Kyle opening presents before getting dressed and off for church. We always eat on the way to church because there is twenty minutes and why tell the kids to hurry at home when there is a full twenty minutes in the car on the way to the church in which they can do nothing by eat?

Church went well and the rain died to a drizzle on the way home, however it was enough of a rain to make the truck nice and wet. Kyle pulled the truck into the garage and we all started piling out, but I had taken off my shoes. Let's face it, after three hours in high heels, I just didn't feel the need to wear them anymore and I was getting out in the garage where I often find myself without shoes anyway, so what was the big deal, right? Well, it was a big deal because the ground was wet from the truck. My foot went to the floor and then out in front of me as I fell and hit my bum right on garage floor. In the mean time, my knee came up to hit the truck door and my back slid down the step rail on the truck. Yes, it hurt, a lot. I tried catching myself with my right hand since my left hand has stitches, but my bum is bruised, my arm is strained, my knee is bandaged and my back just hurts. Honestly, I feel like I got hit by a truck!

I'm sure I'll be okay in a few days and be able to move quicker than what I can right now, but man, I'm nervous for the future. I don't know what's going on, but these things are not normal for me. In the almost eleven years that Kyle and I have been married, I have never had injuries like these before. Kyle told me he may tie me up next weekend because he can only imagine what will happen next. I'm just grateful I could still move enough to make a nice Father's Day meal for him and let him relax a little, although he did end up in the kitchen to help. He says because he was bored, but I'm wondering if it wasn't to make sure I didn't do more damage to myself!

A Kitchen Oops!

I have been debating whether to write this blog, then whether to post a picture, but I decided, why not? For the first time in my life, I can say that have had stitches! Okay, I guess that isn't exactly true. My daughter had a hard time being delivered and in turn, I ended up with stitches, BUT I don't consider that when thinking about those types of things. I've also been asked if I have ever been hospitalized and I say no, even though I have stayed in the hospital for all three of my childrens' births.

Anyway, Saturday was epic! We all had things to do for the day. The kids were trying to get their chores done (with Mom's voice loudly helping motivate them!) and Mom and Dad both had things that needed to get done before going to the ward potluck that evening. As I was making a salad to take to the potluck, a can slipped out of my hand. I reached for the lid and instantly knew it was the wrong choice to make. SLICE! Right through my left hand by my thumb.

Celeste ran and told Kyle that I needed him and we loaded up the kids and took them to urgent care. We have to be the luckiest people ever though, for me being so silly with grabbing a lid from a can that was opened with a can opener! We got there and there were only two other people in front of us to see a doctor. I got in to see the nurse about 20 minutes after we filled out our paperwork. The doctor stitched me up and sent me on my way with the instructions not to do dishes or take baths that would soak my hand. I have to admit that I'm still doing dishes, but I'll be sure not to soak my hand in water for too long. The last thing I need is to end up with my cut not healing!

There isn't really anything new right now on the home front, other than stitches, but we have some fun activities coming up soon and I'm excited for them. There is a baseball game that we get to go to with other members of the ward and we will be experiencing our first NASCAR race at the end of the month. I can't wait!!!!
